Collecting printer cartridges
Pooling materials leads to long-term benefits
Dealing with empty ink and toner cartridges from printers, fax machines and franking machines calls for environmentally friendly, cost-effective take-back concepts. Interseroh operates four different collection systems, providing tailored solutions for used printer supplies.
Take-back systems that generate added value
One of our printer cartridge take-back systems is a green box featuring Meike, Interseroh's mascot dragon. The supplies collected by participating companies, authorities and social institutions also serve a charitable purpose: for every cartridge collected, they are helping to provide learning and play materials for schools and nurseries. To date, around 8,000 companies have installed one of the boxes.
Alternatively, the Caritas Box is a way for users to support charitable projects run by the German branch of the Catholic charity Caritas, while proceeds realised from a third type of collection box go to the Balthasar hospice for children and teenagers in Olpe, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The fourth collection model is the Interseroh Product Cycle Box. After collection, customers are paid the equivalent value of the materials they have collected, at current market rates.
A professional partner for distributors
As a certified waste management specialist, Interseroh ensures that the materials collected using all four systems are sorted and returned to the recycling loop by expert staff. Refillable printer cartridges are sold on to national and international purchasers, while the non-reusable types are disposed of in accordance with the most stringent environmental standards.
Do you regularly accumulate large volumes of empty printer cartridges, and need a suitable collection system?
