Interseroh Austria acquires a share in REMEDIA TSR

Partnership expansion in the Italian WEEE branch

Vienna. Interseroh Austria, a part of ALBA Group, one of the leading recycling and environmental services providers worldwide, launches its strategic partnership with the Italian WEEE Consorzio REMEDIA (Milan). Through a capital increase, Interseroh now holds a 40 percent share of REMEDIA TSR, the consortium’s operating company, with the option of increasing the share at a later stage.

REMEDIA TSR has a turnover of EUR 25 million as well as 250 logistics and 30 recycling partners. In 2017, REMEDIA TSR collected 100.000 tonnes of electrical equipment at the end of its life cycle in the Italian market. Consorzio REMEDIA is one of the leading WEEE and battery take-back systems in Italy. 20 of the 30 largest global electronics producers are shareholders of the REMEDIA consortium, among them tech giants such as Apple, Samsung, Siemens, Panasonic, Vodafone, Dell, Lenovo and Hitachi.

This partnership is Interseroh Austria’s most substantial investment since the firm was founded in 1997. ‘This transaction is of high strategic value, establishing a front-line position for Interseroh in Italian WEEE collection’, explains Martin Ulke, Interseroh Austria’s Managing Director responsible for the deal. Franz Sauseng, Managing Director for ReCycle, states: ‘We consistently work towards optimized, tailored solutions for our clients. Due to the partnership with Consorzio REMEDIA, we will be able to increase efficiency and to establish additional services. Clients benefit from the value added and deflated administration – a real win-win for everyone involved.’

Following their expansion in Austria and Poland, Interseroh will grow their Italian business to match the country’s promising development.
