+++ Meeting of experts in Frankfurt am Main on 17 October 2017 +++ Symposium under the motto “Packaging is raw material” +++

Cologne/Frankfurt. Representatives from retail, the production industry and recycling industry are meeting for a professional exchange of ideas on the recycling capability of packaging materials in Frankfurt am Main on 17 October 2017. The environmental services provider Interseroh and the Deutsche Verpackungsinstitut e.V. (dvi) are organising their first joint symposium “Future Resources 2017” under the motto “Packaging is raw material”. The event will bring together players from the packaging value chain and address legal changes and their impacts on innovations in packaging and recycling.

“Against the backdrop of finite resources with increasing amounts of waste at the same time, it is essential to include sustainability and recycling capability in packaging design,” says Markus Müller-Drexel, Managing Director of INTERSEROH Dienstleistungs GmbH. “If retail and industry work as one in this process, it won’t just benefit the environment but will pay off for companies too.”

“For more than 25 years the packaging industry has been a circular economy pioneer. The issue recycling plays a main role at all events of the dvi. We are happy that, together with Interseroh at Future Resources 2017, we can work on the improvement of sustainability and recycling capability of packaging together with important players of the industry“, says Winfried Batzke, Managing Director of dvi.

During the event, dvi and Interseroh invite you to discuss the necessity for the optimal economical and ecological use of packaging in closed cycles together with renowned speakers including Gunda Rachut (Director of the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister), Peter Heydasch (materials expert at Dow Europe GmbH) and Stefan Dierks (Head of CR Product & Strategy Tchibo GmbH).

The “Future Resources 2017” symposium is being held on 17 October 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in the city centre of Frankfurt between the cathedral and the Römer (town hall).
