Cologne/Frankfurt. Putting the spotlight on packaging recycling: At the symposium “Future Resources 2018” on 6 November 2018 experts from the areas of trade, as well as in the packaging and recycling industries, will discuss new legal requirements and sustainable solutions. With their second joint event, the environmental services provider Interseroh and Deutsche Verpackungsinstitut e.V. (dvi) want to build on the success they enjoyed last year and actively contribute to a constructive dialogue among all players in the value chain. Under the motto “The packaging of tomorrow”, the participants will discuss and share their ideas in relation to the German Packaging Act that will come into effect from 2019, the environmentally friendly design of the packaging and innovative recycling technologies.

“The ability to recycle packaging will become one of the most critical factors in a company’s success – especially with respect to the new Packaging Act, a change of mindset towards sustainability is required”, said Markus Müller-Drexel, Managing Director of INTERSEROH Dienstleistungs GmbH. “One of the primary things that needs to change in order to meet the higher recycling quotes that are required is a well thought out organic design of the packaging from the beginning”. As a specialist for innovative recycling technologies, Interseroh supports companies with the range of services called “Made for Recycling”, which analyses sales packaging and aims to optimise it.

“Bringing packaging into circulation is a joint task for all involved in the value chain", emphasised Winfried Batzke, Managing Director of dvi. “The Future Resources Congress offers us the necessary platform in order to develop the ecologically and environmentally sensible solutions for the packagings of tomorrow together with traders and recyclers.”

On the programme are the current practically relevant presentations and discussions with the speakers – among others Konstantin Bark, Director of Communications at Unilever DACH,
Dr Martin Schlummer, Managing Director Recycling and Environment at the Fraunhofer Institute IVV, and Michael Brandl, Managing Director of the trade association Kartonverpackungen für flüssige Nahrungsmittel e. V.

The “Future Resources 2018” symposium will take place on 6 November 2018 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Design Offices in Frankfurt Westendcaree. You can find more information about the event, the programme and registration at <link http: www.future-resources.de>www.future-resources.de.
